Boutique patio

Belgian fashion designer Christian Wijnants opened his first flagship store in Antwerp. With plants and flowers playing a leitmotif throughout his work, we were asked to translate this passion for nature into a compact but lush and exotic garden. Inspiration was found in Wijnants collections, and samples of architectural materials used in the boutique, such as concrete, glass, metal and wood.

Leafy combination

The result is an evergreen oasis, a startling assemblage of different plants and leaves: from big and leathery, to sharp and veiny. To enlarge the optical illusion of the small plot which is fully surrounded by walls, we played with large adjustable mirrors and bright spotlights, leading the customers towards the rear of the boutique, which holds a seating area and fitting rooms, overlooking the green patio.
